README

1 This is the new version (1.42.9) of the second extended file
      2 system management programs.
      3
4 From time to time, I release new versions of e2fsprogs, to fix
5 bugs and to make the utilities more robust. You can always find
6 information about the latest version at the the e2fsprogs web page,
      7 which is:
      8
      9 http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net
     10
11 The INSTALL file has instructions on building and installing
12 e2fsprogs. Provisions for building Red Hat RPMs and Debian dpkg files
     13 are supplied as well.
     14
15 In case of bugs in these programs, please contact Ted Ts'o at
     16 tytso (a] mit.edu or tytso (a] alum.mit.edu. See the e2fsck man page for
17 suggestions of what sort of information to include when submitting bug
     18 reports for these programs.

README.subset

1 This distribution contains a subset of the e2fsprogs package; it
2 contains the base libraries (ss, et, uuid, blkid) which may be used by
      3 other non-ext2-related applications.
      4
5 This may be useful for non-Linux operating systems that need these
6 libraries for GNOME, but who do not need the ext2/ext3 filesystem
      7 utilities.
      8
9 The full e2fsprogs distributions can be found at the e2fsprogs web
     10 page, which is:
     11
     12 http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net
     13
14 In case of bugs in these libraries, please contact Ted Ts'o at
     15 tytso (a] mit.edu or tytso (a] alum.mit.edu.
